Yes! Most private insurance plans offer some coverage for naturopathic medicine. You can inquire with your insurance company directly to determine how much of the visit fees would be covered.
Yes! I can provide you with a requisition for blood work and/or functional tests. A note however that because naturopathic medicine is a form of private health care, the blood work ordered by a naturopathic doctor is not covered by OHIP. That being said, you can check with your insurance whether your benefits would cover any amount for the testing.
Please fill out the intake and consent form you receive by email prior to the appointment. You can also send me any blood work results you have from prior testing as these may help guide understanding of your symptoms and treatment course.
The first appointment is 60-90min in length. The reason for this is because we will be doing a deep dive into your health concerns, personal medical history and lifestyle in order to identify possible causes of and contributors to your health concerns.
All aspects of your health are considered in order to provide you with a well-rounded and holistic treatment approach, including the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
I know that lifestyle changes can be challenging to make for various reasons and I strive to meet my patients where they are at.
If you are someone who prefers to charge forward, I will provide you with the recommendations that are indicated for you.
If you prefer to start with small steps, we will discuss the barriers to better health and come up with a plan to address these progressively.
This is entirely dependent on the presentation and level of readiness of the patient. Some patients see results after the very first appointment while it may take some more time to see changes in more complex cases.
You will not be charged for an appointment cancelled before 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
An appointment cancelled within 24 hours will be charged the full fee for that appointment. Although this may seem strict, please consider that in the case of a last-minute cancellation, there is a hole left in the schedule that could have otherwise been filled by another patient.
There are exceptions to this policy of course, in the case of extenuating circumstances.
